Lex Johnston was born and raised in
Tarrant County, Texas. After
graduating from TrinityHigh School in
Euless, he attended Tarrant County
Junior College and the University of
Texas at Arlington, where he received a
commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the
United States Army. Lex served in
the Texas Army National Guard and on
active duty for over a decade in various
capacities, including armor Platoon
Leader, Executive Officer, two tours
working on a General's staff, and
leading a team on a Drug Interdiction
Task Force.
Lex graduated Summa Cum Laude from
LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Management
before attending Texas Wesleyan
University School of Law. At
Wesleyan, Lex was a named to the Dean's
List, served as an editor on the Texas
Wesleyan Law Review, and was awarded the
American Bar Association Law Student
Division's Silver Gavel award.
After graduating from Wesleyan in
2001, Lex worked at a "boutique" law
firm, almost exclusively representing
persons arrested for Driving While
Intoxicated. In November, 2002,
Lex opened the Law Office of Lex
Johnston and has been representing
people accused of committing a variety
of crimes, including possession of
controlled substances, robberies,
burglaries, thefts, and all types of
assaultive offenses.
Lex concentrates all of his time on
criminal defense. Lex believes
that he can be a better advocate for you
by concentrating his time and energy on
one type of law.
Over the past few years, Lex has
tried over 60 charges, including over 50
felony charges. Many of these
trials involved "aggravated" cases,
including murder, aggravated assault,
and sexual assault. Although every
trial cannot be listed on this web site,
Lex would be happy to discuss his
victories, as well as his losses, when
you meet in person. Lex is very
proud of his record as a trial attorney
and believes that his record compares
quite well to any other attorney's
record in Tarrant County.
In addition to representing clients
in trials, Lex has made numerous
presentations in front of Grand Juries
in Tarrant County. One of Lex's
Grand Jury presentations is used by the
Tarrant County District Attorney's
office as a guide to show other defense
lawyers how to present a winning case.
Of the eleven cases Lex has presented to
the Grand Jury, only one was actually
indicted.
Lex knows the Tarrant County system
and is familiar with many ways to
resolve cases without having to go to
trial. In many cases, especially
misdemeanor cases, it may be possible
for Lex to get a case dismissed, no
matter how guilty you may actually be.
In order to find out if it is a
possibility for your case, you should
answer all of Lex's questions as
honestly as possible so that he can
determine if there is a program your
particular situation. |
